Omega-3s are polyunsaturated fatty acids essential for our balance. In the body, they play a major role in heart and brain function, as well as maintaining vision.

However, daily dietary intake of omega-3s is often too low today, with a deficiency in EPA and DHA fatty acids in nearly 9 out of 10 French people. Since our bodies cannot produce these fatty acids, it is important to ensure sufficient omega-3 intake.

To take care of your cardiovascular health, our supplement contains ultra-pure EPAX® fish oil, concentrated in EPA and DHA, fatty acids in their natural triglyceride form, offering optimal bioavailability for the body.

Each daily dose (4 easy-to-swallow capsules) provides 800 mg of EPA and 600 mg of DHA. All without any fish taste or smell!

Who are Epax® Omega-3s for?

Omega-3s are essential fatty acids that the body cannot produce on its own. Since they come mainly from oily fish, many people do not consume enough of them on a daily basis. As a result, nearly 9 out of 10 French people have EPA and DHA intakes below recommended nutritional guidelines (1).

Directions for use

Dosage: take 4 softgels daily with a large glass of water. This provides 2,000 mg of EPAX® oil, including 800 mg of EPA and 600 mg of DHA.

When to take: ideally with a meal. The presence of dietary fats enhances the absorption of EPA and DHA. You can take all 4 softgels at once or divide them between two meals, according to your preference.

Duration: omega-3 supplementation can be taken continuously throughout the year to maintain stable EPA and DHA levels and support a long-term balance in your omega-6 to omega-3 ratio.

The label Friend of the Sea is the leading certification standard for products that respect and protect the marine environment. What is the Totox index, and why is it important?

Oxidation is a natural process that occurs in all fats and oils containing unsaturated fatty acids.

The Totox index measures the oxidation level of Omega-3s. The lower the index, the fresher and more stable the oil, meaning fewer Omega-3s are degraded. This makes it an important factor to check when choosing a supplement.

A high-quality Omega-3 product should have a Totox index below 10 (with the maximum limit set at 26).

Are your Omega-3s deodorized?

What size are the capsules?

Each Omega 3 capsule contains 500 mg of EPAX® fish oil, the world's leading Omega 3 fatty acid, and is 1.5 cm long, making them very easy to swallow (unlike traditional 1000 mg capsules).

Pourquoi ne pas proposer une formule Oméga 3-6-9 ?

Notre choix de proposer uniquement des oméga 3 purs (EPA et DHA) est délibéré et repose sur un constat nutritionnel simple : l'alimentation occidentale moderne apporte déjà largement assez d'oméga 6 et d'oméga 9, souvent en excès.

Les oméga 6 sont présents en abondance dans les huiles végétales (tournesol, maïs, soja), les produits transformés, les viandes et les œufs de la filière conventionnelle. Les oméga 9, quant à eux, sont synthétisés naturellement par l'organisme et se retrouvent dans l'huile d'olive, les avocats et les oléagineux. Se supplémenter en oméga 6 et 9 n'a donc, dans la grande majorité des cas, aucun intérêt nutritionnel.

À l'inverse, les oméga 3 — en particulier l'EPA et le DHA d'origine marine — sont massivement sous-consommés dans l'alimentation occidentale. C'est ce déséquilibre du ratio oméga 6/oméga 3 (souvent supérieur à 15:1, alors que le ratio idéal se situe autour de 4:1) que notre formule cherche à corriger.

Une formule 3-6-9 dilue les oméga 3 dans un mélange déjà présent en excès dans votre assiette : elle ne répond pas au vrai besoin nutritionnel et affaiblit l'efficacité du complément. C'est pourquoi nous avons fait le choix d'une concentration maximale en EPA et DHA purs, avec la garantie Epax®.

Où sont fabriqués vos Oméga 3 ?

Nos Oméga 3 sont fabriqués en France, dans notre laboratoire partenaire spécialisé dans la production de compléments alimentaires haut de gamme.

L'huile de poisson Epax®, quant à elle, est produite en Norvège, dans les installations du fournisseur Epax (leader mondial des oméga 3 marins concentrés). Les poissons sauvages (anchois, sardines, maquereaux) sont pêchés dans l'océan Pacifique Sud-Est, une zone reconnue pour sa faible pollution en métaux lourds. L'huile est ensuite raffinée et concentrée en EPA et DHA grâce à un procédé de distillation moléculaire qui élimine les contaminants (PCB, dioxines, mercure).

Une fois l'huile Epax® reçue en France, elle est encapsulée, contrôlée et conditionnée dans notre laboratoire français, sous norme ISO 22000 et HACCP. Chaque lot fait l'objet d'analyses indépendantes pour garantir la pureté, la concentration en EPA/DHA et l'absence de contaminants.

Are Omega 3s suitable for vegetarians or vegans?

Our dietary supplement is formulated with fish oil. It is therefore not suitable for vegetarians and vegans. If you follow a vegetarian or vegan diet, we recommend that you choose plant-based sources of omega-3, such as flaxseed oil.

Should I take Omega-3 every day?

Whether you need daily Omega-3 supplementation depends on your diet. If you consume little to no oily fish or plant-based Omega-3 sources, a daily supplement may be beneficial.

A consistent daily intake, whether through food or supplementation, helps meet your needs with no time limit, as long as the dosage is appropriate.

When and how to use this omega 3 supplement?

We recommend taking 4 capsules of omega 3 per day with a large glass of water, preferably during a meal to improve the absorption of fatty acids. For optimal effect, it is advisable to consume them regularly over the long term.

Are Novoma Omega-3s suitable for me if I am pregnant?

DHA plays a fundamental role in the brain and visual development of the fetus. During pregnancy, needs increase significantly, as this fatty acid accumulates in the baby's brain and retina, particularly during the third trimester.

Our Epax® omega-3s provide 600 mg of DHA per daily dose, a high dosage to cover DHA needs during this period. The molecular distillation purification process guarantees a pure oil free of heavy metals and contaminants.

Can I give omega 3 to a child?

The link between omega-3s EPA, DHA and heart function is widely documented. This is why EFSA, the European Food Safety Authority, recognizes that EPA and DHA contribute to normal heart function from 250 mg per day (1)(2).

A meta-analysis published in EClinicalMedicine in 2021, covering 38 randomized controlled trials and more than 149,000 participants, associated omega-3 supplementation with a reduction in cardiovascular mortality and coronary events (4). 

A second meta-analysis, published in Mayo Clinic Proceedings, confirms these observations and also highlights a dose-dependent effect: the more EPA and DHA intake increases, the more pronounced the cardiovascular benefits (7).
