Pure lysine of plant origin

Presentation of Lysine

Effectively support your well-being with L-Lysine!

Lysine is an essential amino acid, meaning the body cannot produce it on its own, so it is important to ensure that you get it through your diet or as a supplement.

In the body, lysine is involved in the synthesis of proteins that contribute to the growth and repair of body tissues. This makes it particularly useful for athletes who use it to build muscle mass.

To support you on a daily basis, we have selected a pure, high-quality L-Lysine, derived from corn fermentation.

Each daily dose of 3 capsules provides 1500 mg of L-Lysine, an ideal dose to supplement your daily intake.

Our answers to your questions

Information

Why consume lysine when being an athlete?

In the body, lysine is essential for the synthesis of proteins that promote muscle growth and mass gain.

Athletes use it successfully as an amino acid precursor to proteins.

Athletes who train intensively often have higher nutritional needs, and taking lysine supplements can help meet these needs and optimize athletic performance.

Can we get enough lysine in our daily diet?

Lysine is an essential amino acid, meaning our bodies cannot synthesize it and we must obtain it from our diet.

Fortunately, lysine is widely available in a variety of foods, including meat, poultry, fish, legumes, nuts, seeds, and some dairy products. Therefore, it is possible to get enough lysine in our daily diet by eating a varied and balanced diet.

However, it can be difficult for vegetarians and vegans to consume enough lysine because legumes and nuts, which are common sources of lysine for people following vegetarian or vegan diets, also contain other amino acids that can reduce the bioavailability of lysine.

Therefore, vegetarians and vegans may need to take supplements to ensure they get enough lysine, as may people who do not eat a sufficiently varied and balanced diet.

What is the impact of lysine on cold sores?

Some people take lysine to prevent cold sores. But this action has not been validated by EFSA due to insufficient scientific evidence.

Studies have shown that cold sores may be caused by an imbalance in favor of arginine over lysine. Taking a lysine supplement may help to partially restore this imbalance. But the causes of herpes are not limited to an arginine/lysine ratio that is too high.

What daily dose of lysine should not be exceeded?

The dose of lysine not to be exceeded depends on several factors, such as age, gender, weight and the health status of each individual. In general, the recommended dose of lysine for adults varies between 1000 mg and 3000 mg per day.

It is important to note that taking high doses of lysine can cause side effects such as abdominal pain, nausea and diarrhea... Therefore, we recommend that you do not exceed the recommended daily dose. If in doubt, consider asking your doctor for advice

What are the benefits of Lysine?

Lysine is involved in many diverse physiological processes and provides two major benefits to the body:

  1. Like all amino acids, lysine contributes to protein synthesis. Protein is essential for many bodily functions, including building and repairing tissues.
  2. It facilitates the body's absorption of calcium, an essential mineral for bone health.
