Presentation of Iron Bisglycinate

Iron is a trace element essential to the body. Indispensable for the body, it contributes in particular to the reduction of fatigue, the proper functioning of the immune system and the production of red blood cells.

As it is not synthesized by the body, it must be provided daily through diet or supplementation to prevent deficiency , particularly in women during pregnancy or breastfeeding or in the event of significant menstrual losses (iron requirements being increased).

In order to best meet your iron needs, our supplement is formulated from an amino-chelated form of iron that is highly assimilable and has excellent digestive tolerance : Ferrochel® quality iron bisglycinate.

Our Iron Bisglycinate contains 90 capsules, or 3 months of treatment.

Why our Iron Bisglycinate?

Highly assimilable iron
We have selected a highly bioavailable form of iron: Ferrochel®. Obtained through a chelation process that consists of binding iron to an amino acid (glycine), Ferrochel® iron bisglycinate, developed by the American company Albion® Minerals, is characterized by excellent assimilation and perfect intestinal tolerance. Its effectiveness has also been demonstrated by more than 100 clinical studies.

Optimal dosage
Each capsule provides 14 mg of iron bisglycinate, providing 100% coverage of the recommended daily intake.

Formula enriched with vitamin C
For optimal effectiveness, we have combined iron with pure, European vitamin C labeled Quali®-C, which increases its absorption and optimizes its effects.

2 months of treatment
This supplement contains 90 capsules, allowing a 3-month treatment.

French manufacturing 🇫🇷
Our vitamin D3 supplement is made in France. This product is guaranteed GMO-free, gluten-free, additive-free and excipient-free, and is suitable for vegetarian and vegan diets.

R-PET bottle ♻️
Our bottle is made from 100% recycled and recyclable R-PET, in an effort to reduce our carbon footprint.

Directions for use

Take 1 capsule per day with a glass of water. We recommend that you consume this supplement preferably in the morning on an empty stomach. As part of a zinc treatment, separate the intake of each supplement by at least 2 hours.

Our Iron Bisglycinate is suitable for adults and children over 14 years old. For children under 14 years old and for pregnant and breastfeeding women, seek the advice of a healthcare professional.

At a rate of one capsule per day, each bottle contains 3 months of treatment. Before renewing your iron bisglycinate treatment, do not hesitate to seek advice from your doctor to possibly carry out a blood test to measure your iron level.

Our answers to your questions

Why should iron bisglycinate be preferred over other forms of iron?

Iron bisglycinate is a preferred form of iron because it is well absorbed by the body and gentle on the stomach. Iron bisglycinate is a complex of iron and glycine, an amino acid that can help improve iron absorption. This form of iron is also less likely to cause digestive discomfort that can be common with other forms of iron.

What is the advantage of Ferrochel® iron?

The Ferrochel® chelated iron is a unique product, created by binding iron to two molecules of organic glycine. Unlike most iron salts which have a positive electrical charge, Ferrochel® iron is ionically neutral thanks to a patented chelation process, which allows it not to interfere with the absorption of other nutrients.

In addition, we chose to select Ferrochel® iron bisglycinate since it has better bioavailability than traditional forms of iron salts and is very well tolerated by the body.

What are the symptoms of iron deficiency?

As a reminder, iron plays an important role in the normal formation of hemoglobin and red blood cells, ensuring the transport of oxygen to cells.

Thus, the first symptoms of iron deficiency are usually paleness of the face and abnormal fatigue. Immune fragility and a decrease in physical abilities can also be observed. Some people have brittle nails as well as dry skin and hair.

Iron deficiency anemia is difficult to diagnose because it develops gradually. Only tests with your doctor can make it objective.

What causes iron deficiency?

Generally, an iron deficiency is due to blood loss (heavy periods, serious injury, hemorrhagic diseases) or a lack of iron in the diet (especially in the context of a vegan diet).

In rarer cases, it may be due to a disease causing iron absorption problems.

Does anemia necessarily come from an iron deficiency?

Anemia is characterized by an abnormally low level of hemoglobin in the blood (less than 12g/L for women and 13g/L for men). Hemoglobin is present in red blood cells, which carry oxygen to the organs.

Although this is often the case, saying “anemia” does not necessarily mean “iron deficiency anemia” (= iron deficiency anemia). Indeed, anemia can also be caused by a lack of vitamin B12 or vitamin B9, or by a disease causing a decrease in iron absorption. So be careful not to mix the two! If you suspect anemia, consult your doctor.

What foods contain iron?

Iron is a mineral that can be found in a variety of foods, both from animal sources (meat, fish, seafood), but also from plant sources (legumes, green vegetables, dried fruits, spices, etc.).

What are the differences between heme iron and non-heme iron?

Heme and non-heme iron are two forms of iron present in our diet. Heme iron is of animal origin; its absorption by the body is around 15-20%. Non-heme iron is of plant origin; it is only absorbed by the body at a rate of 3-5%.

The ideal is to have a balanced and varied diet that includes both haem and non-haem sources of iron.

But because heme iron is more easily absorbed by the human body, it is considered more effective in preventing iron deficiency.

What supplements should be combined with iron?

If your goal is to gain energy and/or strengthen your immune system, we recommend that you combine your iron bisglycinate intake with vitamin B12 or vitamin C (for the latter, it is advisable to slightly reduce the dose taken, each capsule of our chelated iron providing 100 mg of vitamin C).

Iron can also be combined with other minerals such as copper or zinc bisglycinate, which may play a role in the production of red blood cells and hemoglobin.

What are the risks of an iron overdose?

An iron overdose can be dangerous and lead to serious health complications. Iron is an essential mineral for health, but it can be toxic in large amounts. An iron overdose can cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain. It is therefore important not to exceed the recommended dose of iron and to consult a doctor if symptoms of iron overdose occur.

I am pregnant, should I take iron supplements?

During pregnancy, and particularly after the first trimester, iron requirements increase to nourish the growing fetus and placenta.

It is estimated that 20% of pregnant women are iron deficient. Therefore, it is often recommended that pregnant women take an iron supplement to ensure they have adequate levels of iron during pregnancy.

In order to know whether iron supplementation may be relevant or not, a blood test is necessary to assess the level of iron reserves. It is also important to discuss this with a doctor or health professional.

How to know your iron level?

To find out if you are deficient or anemic, it will be necessary to take a blood test and have the results evaluated by a health professional.
