Presentation of Probiotics

Probiotics are living microorganisms that are naturally present in our digestive system and that make up our intestinal flora (or microbiota). They exist in the form of bacteria (Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium) and yeasts (Saccharomyces). In total, the digestive tract contains 100,000 billion bacteria and other microorganisms.

To maintain the balance of the intestinal microbiota, our supplement is a unique complex composed of 6 probiotic strains labeled SynbÆctive®, selected for their complementarity for their synergistic action on the balance of the intestinal flora: Lacticaseibacillus paracasei, Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus, Lactiplantibacillus plantarum, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Limosilactobacillus reuteri and Bifidobacterium lactis.

Each daily dose provides an optimal dose of 60 billion Colony Forming Units (CFU) for production.

Why choose our probiotics?

Gastro-resistant capsules
Our probiotic strains are encapsulated in DRcaps® plant-based gastro-resistant capsules that offer optimal protection and prolonged effectiveness. DRcaps® capsules are specially designed to protect probiotics from stomach acidity. This allows for delayed release, ensuring that the probiotics reach the intestine intact, where they can exert their beneficial effects.

Prebiotic fiber and probiotic combination
In addition to probiotic strains, our supplement provides prebiotics derived from acacia fiber, which nourish the good bacteria in the gut and enhance the overall action.

1-month treatment
This supplement contains 60 capsules, sufficient for a one-month treatment.

Made in France 🇫🇷
Our probiotic supplement is made in France. This product is guaranteed to be GMO-free, gluten-free, additive-free, and excipient-free, and is suitable for vegetarian and vegan diets.

R-PET bottle ♻️
Our bottle is made from 100% recycled and recyclable R-PET, with the aim of reducing the carbon footprint.

What is a probiotic?

Probiotics are live microorganisms that, when consumed in adequate amounts, help maintain the balance of the intestinal and intimate microbiota.

What is the intestinal microbiota?

The intestinal microbiota, also called “intestinal flora”, is the set of non-pathogenic microorganisms (bacteria, viruses, yeasts, fungi, etc.) that populate our digestive system. It is built gradually from birth.

The microbiota plays a role in the overall functioning of the digestive tract and is involved in a number of mechanisms:

  • The assimilation of ingested nutrients, fatty acids and minerals;
  • Transit regulation;
  • The secretion of serotonin, called the “happiness hormone”;
  • The synthesis of vitamin K and certain B vitamins;
  • The synthesis of 3 essential amino acids: leucine, valine and isoleucine;
  • Metabolic functions.

What is the difference between probiotics and prebiotics?

According to the WHO, probiotics are "live microorganisms that, when ingested in sufficient quantities, exert positive effects on health, beyond traditional nutritional effects". In short, they naturally populate our digestive system from birth, making up our microbiota. They are essential for the proper functioning of the digestive system and participate in the absorption of nutrients and minerals.

Prebiotics are compounds in the foods we eat (mainly fibers), which feed the bacteria in our microbiota. To put it simply, a good intake of prebiotics allows you to properly nourish your microbiota, i.e. all the bacteria present in our digestive system (including probiotics).

To summarize, probiotics are naturally present in our body, while prebiotics are provided by our diet.

What does UFC mean?

CFU stands for “Colony Forming Unit.” This term refers to the number of live and active bacteria present in a probiotic, capable of multiplying and forming a colony in the intestine.

The higher the CFU count, the greater the concentration of probiotics. However, the effectiveness of a probiotic does not solely depend on the CFU count but also on the quality of the strains used and their ability to survive stomach acidity to reach the intestine.

How many colony-forming units (CFU) are in each capsule?

Each capsule of our Probiotics supplement contains 30 billion CFU at the time of production, meaning 60 billion per two-capsule serving.

The CFU count is distributed among six probiotic strains selected for their synergistic action as follows:

  • Lacticaseibacillus paracasei: 18 billion CFU
  • Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus: 12 billion CFU
  • Lactiplantibacillus plantarum: 12 billion CFU
  • Lactobacillus acidophilus: 6 billion CFU
  • Limosilactobacillus reuteri: 6 billion CFU
  • Bifidobacterium lactis: 6 billion CFU

Are probiotics only found in the digestive system?

No! Probiotics are also present in the vaginal and oral microbiota, where they play an equally important protective role.

For example, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Limosilactobacillus reuteri, and Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus are found in the vaginal flora, while Lactiplantibacillus plantarum and Limosilactobacillus reuteri are present in the oral microbiota.

Who should take probiotics?

Probiotics play an active role in maintaining the balance of gut microbiota.

Since the microbiota is essential for overall health (digestion, immune system, transit, etc.), probiotics are recommended for anyone looking to support their general well-being.

The key is to choose the right strains based on individual needs. If in doubt, it is best to seek advice from a healthcare professional.

When is the best time to start taking probiotics?

There is no single “perfect” time to start taking probiotics, but certain periods may be more beneficial than others.

For example, probiotics can be particularly useful during seasonal changes, periods of stress, after taking antibiotics, or when experiencing digestive discomfort. The most important thing is to listen to your body and adjust your intake accordingly.

Which foods naturally contain probiotics?

Probiotics occur naturally in food, particularly in fermented products such as yogurt, kefir, sauerkraut, miso, tempeh, and kombucha. These foods can help enrich your gut microbiota with beneficial bacteria.

Do probiotics need to be refrigerated?

Our probiotics are encapsulated in DRcaps® gastro-resistant capsules, ensuring the viability of the strains even when exposed to temporary temperature variations.

If the ambient temperature does not exceed 21°C (70°F), refrigeration is not necessary. However, in higher temperatures, such as during heatwaves, storing them in the refrigerator is recommended to maintain their effectiveness.

Why does your Probiotics supplement contain prebiotics?

Our supplement contains prebiotics (from acacia fiber) to enhance the effectiveness of probiotics. Prebiotics serve as food for probiotics, promoting their growth and activity in the intestine. This synergy helps support a balanced gut microbiota.

Is it advisable to take Probiotics while taking antibiotics? (If so, how?)

As you probably guessed, the answer is obviously YES! Probiotics are not contraindicated when taking antibiotics. On the contrary, they help maintain an optimal state of the microbiota, in all situations, even when the intestinal flora is attacked.

To maximize the effectiveness of probiotics while taking antibiotics, it is advisable to take them at least two hours after the antibiotic. This allows the probiotics to colonize the gut without being immediately affected by the antibiotic, helping to maintain a healthy balance of gut microbiota.

Are your strains of human origin? What does that mean?

The 6 selected SynbÆctive® strains are certified as originating from human mucous membranes. Naturally present in humans, they are cultivated by the ROELMI HPC laboratory, then controlled to meet the strictest quality standards.

How to choose the right probiotic supplement?

Not all probiotics are created equal. To select an effective supplement suited to your needs, consider the following criteria:

  • CFU count: Choose a supplement with at least 10 billion CFU per dose, ideally between 30 and 100 billion for optimal effectiveness.
  • Diversity and quality of strains: A good probiotic should contain multiple complementary strains, as each offers specific benefits.
  • Clinically tested strains: Opt for probiotics with scientifically studied strains and clear traceability.
  • Gastro-resistant capsules: Probiotics must survive stomach acidity to be effective. Gastro-resistant capsules ensure their release in the intestine, where they are needed.
  • Presence of prebiotics: Some supplements include prebiotics that act as “food” for probiotics, promoting their development.

Can children take your probiotics? If so, from what age?

Yes, our supplement can be given to children from the age of 4 years, with a recommended dosage of 2 capsules per day.

However, it is always advisable to consult a healthcare professional before starting any supplementation to ensure it meets the child’s specific needs.

Is this supplement suitable for pregnant women?

Yes, our formula is safe for pregnant women as it has no contraindications.

During pregnancy, a balanced gut microbiota contributes to the mother’s well-being, playing a key role in digestion, immunity, and overall health.

However, as with any supplement, it is always best to seek medical advice before starting a course.

Is your supplement suitable for oral or vaginal flora?

Our Probiotics supplement contains bacterial strains adapted to both intestinal, oral and vaginal flora.

Lacticaseibacillus Paracasei,Lacticaseibacillus RhamnosusAndLactobacillus Acidophilus: they are beneficial for oral and vaginal health, helping to maintain the balance of the microbiota.

Limosilactobacillus Reuteriis particularly: effective against oral pathogens and may help reduce dental plaque, while supporting vaginal health.

Lactiplantibacillus PlantarumAndBifidobacterium Lactis: although mainly known for their effects on the intestinal microbiota, they can also contribute to the general health of the immune system, with indirect effects on the oral and vaginal flora.

Can probiotics be taken with other supplements?

Yes, probiotics can be taken with other supplements. For optimal synergy, they can be combined with the Organic Detox Formula, which promotes toxin elimination, or Organic Spirulina, rich in essential nutrients to support vitality and the body’s natural defenses.

How long does it take for probiotic strains to colonize the intestine and start working?

This depends on your microbiota and lifestyle. Some people notice improvements within a few days, while others may need several weeks.

The key is consistency: taking probiotics daily for at least a month is recommended to maximize their effects.

How long does it take to feel the effects of probiotics?

According to studies on the strains in our Probiotics supplement, you should experience reduced discomfort within 10 days of use.

However, every individual is different, and so is each person’s microbiota. Some may notice changes in just a few days, while others may need more time.

Are the probiotic strains used clinically tested for effectiveness?

Yes, Synbæctive® strains have been clinically tested. For example, the Synbæctive® SmilinGut blend has been the subject of a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical study to evaluate its tolerance and effects.

What is a gastro-resistant capsule, and why is it important for probiotics?

Probiotics are delicate bacteria that must survive stomach acidity to reach the intestine, where they are most effective. Our DRcaps® gastro-resistant capsules protect them by delaying their release until they reach the target area. This is a key factor in ensuring their efficacy.

Do probiotics have any side effects?

Probiotics are generally well tolerated, but some individuals may experience mild bloating or gas during the first few days. This is a normal reaction as the microbiota adjusts. These effects usually disappear quickly.

If discomfort persists, start with a lower dose and gradually increase it.
