Turmeric, also known as the "Indian Saffron," is a golden spice with a thousand virtues! The WHO recognizes turmeric for its natural anti-inflammatory action and its incredible benefits on our body. So, no need to deprive yourself of it! 😉
So, what makes this spice so precious? In this article, we reveal all the benefits of a turmeric cure!
Let's get started!
Where does turmeric come from?
Originally from South Asia, turmeric is a super spice! In our supermarket aisles, it is often confused with ginger, which belongs to the same botanical family. The part that interests us for its beneficial properties is the rhizome (the "turmeric root").
In traditional Indian medicine, turmeric is used to support and strengthen the body's balance. More than just a condiment, it is a true ally in daily life. That's why we have included turmeric in our Joint Formula based on 5 natural active ingredients, recognized for their properties on joints, muscles, and tendons!
Known for thousands of years, turmeric has received a lot of attention because it has powerful antioxidant properties.
💡Did you know?
Fun fact: In India, the Bindi (red dot painted on women's foreheads) is made with dried turmeric powder mixed with lime.
Why do a turmeric cure?
Turmeric is a "must-have" to have in our cupboards! In powder form, turmeric is used in many savory and sometimes sweet dishes. But be careful, it's very strong, so go easy on the quantity! 😜
Stored at room temperature, turmeric powder generally retains optimal quality for 3 to 4 years. Fresh turmeric root can be frozen (it will last up to 6 months) or kept in the refrigerator for a few weeks.
Should we get into turmeric?
Turmeric has many benefits! But what are they... The suspense is at its peak, isn't it?
💁🏼 Our advice: To regain your full vitality, we recommend doing a turmeric cure for 1 month (3 capsules per day to be taken with the meal or snack of your choice).

What are the benefits of a turmeric cure?
Turmeric is a food with a high nutritional density. It contains carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins (vitamins C, B1, B2, B3, B9), and minerals (iron, potassium, calcium, magnesium).
In short, turmeric is full of benefits! Although many health claims are still being validated, here are those tolerated by the EFSA:
- Curcumin would contribute to joint health (concentrated in natural antioxidants, curcumin would help reduce oxidative stress);
- Turmeric would contribute to digestive comfort by encouraging the production of digestive juices and promoting fat digestion;
- Turmeric would help maintain liver health.
ANSES recommends not exceeding 180 mg of curcumin per day for an adult weighing 60 kg. At dietary doses, turmeric poses no risk.
How to do a turmeric cure?
"I know I should consume more turmeric."
The problem? Most of us don't know how. Here are some tips:
In the morning, wake up your digestion by adding ½ tsp of turmeric to your favorite hot drink or smoothie.
Sprinkle a little turmeric on your dishes (omelet, grilled vegetables, soup...).
At aperitif time, add a pinch of turmeric to flavor your hummus. It's a pure delight!
Pssst: Remember to consume turmeric with a source of fat like olive or coconut oil to improve its absorption.
Even though turmeric is a safe option, caution is advised in certain cases:
In case of allergies.
In case of anemia. The compounds in turmeric seem to bind to iron in the intestine, making it unavailable for absorption.
During pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Before surgery. Turmeric thins the blood.
Finally, before starting a turmeric cure and if you have any doubts, consult a healthcare professional.
Our homemade recipes for a turmeric cure
Turmeric gives a yellow color and a wonderful aroma to dishes. However, it can have a slight bitter taste when consumed raw or in powder form. You can improve its taste by combining it with other spices like paprika or cinnamon.
Let's get cooking!
Sweet Potato Gratin with Turmeric - for 4 people
Ingredients:
4 to 5 sweet potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced;
2 tbsp olive oil;
½ tsp turmeric powder;
4 garlic cloves;
200 g grated Gruyere cheese (or a vegan alternative);
1 cup (240 ml) plant-based cream (soy, rice, almond...);
Fresh parsley;
Salt, freshly ground black pepper.
Preparation:
- Preheat the oven to 180°C. In a pot of boiling salted water, cook the sweet potato slices for 5 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- Prepare the filling. In a small pot, heat the olive oil over low heat. Add the turmeric powder. Sauté gently for 5 minutes until the aromas are released.
- Grease a gratin dish. Place a layer of sweet potatoes at the bottom of the dish. Sprinkle with grated Gruyere, then spread half of the filling on top. Repeat the process with the remaining sweet potatoes, Gruyere, and filling. Finish with a layer of cheese.
- In a bowl, mix the plant-based cream with salt and pepper. Pour the mixture over the sweet potatoes, ensuring the liquid is evenly distributed.
- Bake for 40 to 45 minutes until the gratin is golden and bubbling.
- After taking it out of the oven, let the gratin rest for a few minutes before sprinkling with chopped parsley. Serve hot. You can accompany the gratin with a green salad.
Scrambled Eggs with Turmeric, Onion, and Spinach - for 1 person
Ingredients:
3 eggs (prefer the "Bleu-Blanc-Cœur" label to optimize your omega-3 intake)
½ tsp turmeric powder
¼ onion
1 handful of fresh, washed spinach
½ tsp cumin powder
A few leaves of fresh parsley
Olive oil (or coconut oil)
Salt, freshly ground black pepper
Preparation:
Break the eggs into a bowl. Add turmeric, cumin, and black pepper. Lightly whisk everything to incorporate the spices into the eggs.
In a small pan, heat a drizzle of olive or coconut oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté for 2 to 3 minutes until it becomes translucent.
Add the chopped spinach to the pan. Sauté for 2 minutes until wilted and tender. Remove everything from the pan and set aside.
In the same pan, pour the spiced beaten eggs. Stir gently with a wooden spatula, scraping the bottom and sides of the pan. Cook the eggs over low heat, stirring constantly for 2 to 3 minutes until they are well-cooked and creamy.
Add the cooked spinach and onion to the scrambled eggs. Gently mix to incorporate the vegetables into the eggs. Taste and adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper if necessary.
Transfer the spiced scrambled eggs to a plate with the spinach. Optionally garnish with chopped parsley. Serve hot and enjoy!
