Ashwagandha, also known as Indian ginseng, is an adaptogenic herb that has been used in Ayurveda for centuries. Considered in Indian tradition to be “the most powerful natural physical stress reliever,” ashwagandha is renowned for its relaxing properties.

But its benefits go further: ashwagandha is also known for its revitalizing effects as well as its virtues on emotional balance and concentration.

For our supplement, we chose KSM-66®, the world standard in organic ashwagandha root extract.

Usage Instructions

Take 2 capsules per day with a glass of water, at any time of the day. In case of exhaustion or stress, you can take 1 capsule in the morning and 1 capsule in the afternoon.

This supplement is recommended for individuals prone to stress (anxiety, difficulty falling asleep and sleeping, etc.) and fatigue.

The recommended duration for an ashwagandha treatment is 1 to 2 months. The treatment can be renewed with a 10-day break.

Root extract of Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera (L.) Dunal) standardized to 5% withanolides (KSM-66®), vegetable capsule (coating agent: hydroxypropyl methylcellulose). Ingredient from organic farming.

Precautions for Use

This product does not replace a varied and balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. Keep out of reach of young children. Store in a dry place, away from heat and light. Suitable for vegetarians and vegans.

What is an adaptogenic plant?

An adaptogenic plant is a plant that has the ability to increase the body's ability to adapt to environmental factors and avoid their negative effects.

Among these plants, we find in particular ashwagandha, ginseng and maca known for their ability to increase the body's resistance to the various stresses it faces (physical, psychological, etc.), but also for their stimulating actions on the body.

What is the difference between Ashwagandha and Ginseng?

They are two different plants! But with quite similar virtues.

Like Panax Ginseng, Ashwagandha is a fortifying and invigorating adaptogenic plant. It belongs to the Solanaceae family, unlike Ginseng which belongs to the Araliaceae family.

Ashwagandha is often called “Indian ginseng” because of its properties that are very similar to those of Panax Ginseng. Indeed, both roots are a source of energy and have a positive effect on anxiety and fatigue.

What does Ayurvedic medicine say about it?

Ashwagandha is one of the most widely used plants in Ayurvedic medicine, which is none other than traditional Indian medicine. It is the root, the part of the plant richest in active ingredients (also the part that is the subject of all scientific research), that is used.

In the ancient language, "ashwagandha" means "strong as a horse" because of the revitalizing and fortifying virtues of the plant. It was then traditionally used after an infection/illness and after periods of fatigue to strengthen the immune system, but also to limit the harmful effects of aging.

How to take ashwagandha?

First of all, it is important to consume a pure extract of ashwagandha roots. For this reason, we have chosen organic extract “KSM-66”, a world reference in the field.

In terms of intake, we advise you to take two capsules per day. You can follow an ashwagandha treatment up to 4 times a year, with 10 days of rest between two treatments.

An ashwagandha treatment is ideal during periods of overwork (stress, exam periods, etc.) but also in the event of a "slump" because this plant is known to combat anxiety, to promote sleep and more generally to support general well-being.

Ashwagandha contains very powerful active ingredients, so if you wish you can take one capsule in the morning with a glass of water or during breakfast, and one capsule in the afternoon up to 4 hours before bedtime.

Are there any dangers to taking ashwagandha?

When taken as recommended, ashwagandha does not cause any particular danger or problem. However, in case of overdose, this powerful herb can cause digestive/intestinal disorders that can lead to diarrhea, nausea and vomiting.

Please note that ashwagandha may interact with certain medications. In the event of medical treatment, it is therefore strongly recommended to consult a doctor.

From what age can you consume ashwagandha?

Ashwagandha can be consumed from the age of 12 in half doses, namely one 500 mg capsule per day. The adult dose can be consumed from the age of 16.

Can I take other herbs at the same time as ashwagandha?

Yes, there is no contraindication to consuming other plants at the same time as Ashwagandha. However, it is important to ensure that the effects of the different plants are not opposed. For athletes, it may be interesting to combine Ashwagandha with taking Spirulina in order to increase tenfold its effects on improving physical performance and endurance.

How to choose the right ashwagandha supplement?

Choosing a quality ashwagandha supplement is important to ensure its purity, effectiveness, and safety. Here are some tips for choosing your ashwagandha supplement:

  • Choose a product that has undergone strict quality controls and has relevant certifications, as is the case for KSM-66®.
  • Opt for a standardized extract made from the roots of the plant, as they contain the most active ingredients that are beneficial for the body.
  • Check the withanolide concentration. Withanolides are the active compounds in ashwagandha. A good supplement should contain enough withanolides (5% is ideal).
  • Look on the label for the daily dosage (minimum recommended dose: 1000 mg per day).
  • Look for an ashwagandha supplement that is organically grown, as this ensures that they are grown without pesticides or chemical fertilizers.
  • Check the ingredient list to make sure the product does not contain any unnecessary additives, fillers, or preservatives. Of course, a product made in France is a plus!
