Sun Formula

Carotenoids are natural pigments present in many fruits and vegetables where they participate in photosynthesis. They have a “protective” action on plants thanks to their antioxidant action.

Several studies have shown that carotenoid supplementation reduces the skin's sensitivity to UV rays. However, be careful: this does not mean that it is enough to protect your skin from sun damage! We are talking about moderate and additional protection that must absolutely be accompanied by external sun protection.

• Before exposure: start your treatment at least 2 weeks before exposing yourself to the sun's rays in order to activate your melanin production.
• During exposure: continue taking it for the entire duration of exposure to the sun.
• After exposure: maintain the intake for at least 2 weeks to prolong the tan.

No! The Sun Formula is designed to prepare your skin for the sun and support it during exposure in order to have a more even and long-lasting tan. Although the active ingredients help your skin to cope with UV rays and rebuild itself, they are not “magic ingredients”.

The application of SPF50 sunscreen therefore remains essential.

The Sun Formula is not a self-tanning formula. It is a dietary supplement designed to prepare the skin for the sun and promote an even and long-lasting tan. It contains ingredients such as carotenoids, vitamins, and antioxidants that help protect the skin from UV damage and stimulate the production of melanin, which can enhance the skin's natural tan.

However, unlike self-tanning products that artificially color the skin, this supplement aims to improve the quality of the tan obtained through exposure to the sun.

First of all, what exactly is melanin? Melanin is the natural pigment responsible for the coloring of the skin when tanning, but also for the color of the hair and eyes. Its main role is to protect the skin from ultraviolet rays, therefore from the harmful effects of the sun, and to promote an even tan.

For our sun supplement, we have simply favored a supply of beta-carotene and copper rather than melanin, two active ingredients which intervene (among other things) in the synthesis of melanin and which contribute to the normal pigmentation of the skin.

Vitamin D is naturally synthesized by the body when the skin is exposed to the sun (or provided by food). The role of the sun supplement is not to provide vitamin D to your body, but to prepare and support your skin during your vacation!

So you will stock up on vitamin D directly from your deckchair. Moreover, pantothenic acid (vitamin B5) contributes to the normal synthesis of vitamin D.

A sunburn is a superficial burn suffered by the skin, an inflammatory response caused by the deterioration of microRNA by the sun's UVB rays. Inflammation means hot, painful and red skin. Hence the importance of sunscreen, which serves as a filter for UV rays (without preventing you from tanning!).

To prepare your skin for the sun, choose a supplement containing antioxidants, carotenoids (beta-carotene, lycopene, lutein) and vitamins.

These nutrients help prevent oxidative damage. Remember that no sun supplement can replace sunscreen and proper protection.
